PKU Tools is an all-in-one nutrition app for people with phenylketonuria (PKU). It replaces the scale, nutrition reference table, calculator and pen and paper with a single app for a low-phenylalanine (Phe) diet.

Yes. Food Search, the Barcode Scanner and the Phe Calculator are completely free and don't even require an account. The diary, blood values, own foods and the AI Calculator are available in a free trial, with no ads. Optional Premium subscriptions increase these limits and add CSV export and more AI usage.

Which devices can I use it on?

PKU Tools is a progressive web app. It installs on Android, iOS, Mac and Windows and is also on the Google Play Store. Your data syncs across your devices in real time.

Is my health data private and secure?

Yes. Your data is stored securely and is not sold. It stays yours, and you can export or delete it anytime. PKU Tools is open source and independent, built by and for the PKU community. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Do I need an account?

For the basic tools — food search, barcode scanner and the Phe calculator — you don't need an account. You need an account to save your data (diary, blood values, own foods) and for the AI calculator. Signing in also syncs everything across your devices.
