Contributors now receive notifications about new comments on their shared foods. The notice remains until they reply or edit the food. I recommend going through previously shared foods to check for older comments.

PKU Tools now has color themes and also an option for a random color on start. A tribute to the earlier apps Phe Rechner, with a color for each page, and PKU Manager, with violet as its accent color.
Edited community foods now return to the top of News. Comments are preserved, and the history shows which information was changed.
Please regularly check the ratings and comments on your shared foods in News and correct any errors in Own Food. Poorly rated community foods are automatically hidden. By responding to feedback and making any necessary corrections, you help me avoid having to step in manually.

The Barcode Scanner, Label Scanner and Phe Calculator now check the food type when converting protein to Phe and suggest corrections. These checks also apply to own and shared foods. I recommend a one-time check of existing own and shared foods by saving them again via βEditβ.
The food type and protein-to-Phe calculation can now be corrected for saved foods.
PKU Tools now has its own news feed with translated app updates, community foods and personal milestones.

Premium users can now update a food icon they don't like.
Requested feature: Foods can now also be saved to Own Food when adding to the Diary. Additionally, the Barcode Scanner now suggests the type of food where possible.
More nutrients, BLS database in Spanish and French, more precise calculations, several fixes and updated terms now also in German, Spanish and French.
The food icon can now be updated when a name is changed, and you can see when a food item was added.
Suggestions now have food icons, are better aligned on small mobile screens and various other improvements around the app.

You can now scan a label of a product in the AI Calculator and calculate Phe with it (not just estimating it like before).

You can now save Phe calculations also as own food and share it with the community. Duplicates are now also also detected.

Barcode Scanner now has a camera picker to choose a preferred camera or even a camera from a connected device. It's also helpful if the camera is too blurry.

Progress circles are now available and you can choose your preferred progress style.

Tell the AI what is wrong and the estimate will be redone. Also a small fix in the estimation: Now all inputs are considered if there are multiple.
You can now mark incomplete days in the diary so they don't skew the statistics.
Small bugfix: Image analysis now works again for multiple food items in a single image.
PKU Tools now combines a scale, nutritional table, calculator, pencil and paper.
Estimation, quick add and image analysis are now combined in a new tool called AI Calculator. The estimation accuracy has also been greatly improved.

The estimation feature now also automatically adds a food icon if possible.
There is now a new Premium + AI plan that provides a bigger AI budget for estimations and future developments. (Premium only is more limited due to the high costs of AI.)
The server got a big update. If you experience any bugs, please report them via email.
PKU Tools is now (as far as I know) the first PKU app with a feature to estimate phenylalanine for any food input π π AI feature: Estimated values can be incorrect.
There are some additional improvements like confirmation modals and a fix with the getting started page on sign in.
There is now a new in-app notification system and the option to undo certain actions (instead of needing to confirm them).
Own Food now has a search feature and the Food Search has also been optimized (icons and identifier for own food).
You can now add food to a different date than today again.
PKU Tools now has a βGetting Startedβ page with health data consent and the option to enable email notifications. The Assistant is now temporarily disabled.

A small bug in "Own Food" has been fixed, where trying to add own food to the diary didn't work.

Searching in PKU Tools has been improved. Search results can be refined by using multiple words, e.g. "apples raw" or "potatoes cooked". In addition, the pipe operator (|) can combine searches, and using quotes around words searches for exact matches.
The Barcode Scanner has been greatly improved and now recognizes barcodes much more reliably. π
Now there is a % value that shows the deviation from the optimum Phe value in the Phe Log. This helps in estimating and approaching the Phe tolerance.
Now you can set the date when you finish the Phe Log. This makes it much easier when you finish it a day later.
The layout of PKU Tools has been completely redesigned. π Besides the new design, the technical side now has much more flexibility and independence for future developments.

You can now add food from the last few days even easier (with one click) π
A bug has been fixed where direct access to subpages did not work.
PKU Tools now works like a normal website and no longer offline. This is an improvement. It can still be installed like an app on the home screen. You now always have the latest version without having to click on "Refresh" in a popup (as you would expect from a normal website).
There was a bug that adding your own food via the search did not work. This has been fixed.
The navigation and other places have been cleaned up. You can now also export your own food. A few bugs regarding registration, logging in and out and deleting accounts have been fixed.
This update probably has the most extensive changes to date. The entire framework had to be rewritten so that the libraries used could be brought up to date. Almost every part of the code had to be changed. The update also included some improvements and bug fixes: The barcode scanner now works more reliably. 2 different data views can be exported. The design can be automatically adapted to the device. The search function now also searches for your own foods. Bugfix: "Add again" now also works for foods with self-defined icons. And much more.
